Third Annual Fun-raising Event
Holy-in-One Tournament
Was Resounding Success!

little_angelThey came, they played and they conquered! Thirty players participated in the 3rd annual Calvary Church Holy-in-One Golf Tournament on Friday, June 8, 2007.

This year, golfers took on the challenging greens at the legendary Thomson Country Club in North Reading, MA. Registration began at 6:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 7:30 p.m. and the fee of $135 per person -- with proceeds going to Calvary’s Children’s and Youth programs -- included

  • 18 holes of golf
  • Golf cart
  • Buffet lunch
  • Raffles and golf gifts

Although the final tally isn’t in yet, tourney organizers Bill and Jean Sabean and Carole Germano and Jan Saulnier were overjoyed with the response of players, who raved about the course and about the way in which the tourney was organized.

Calvary extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Sabeans for securing the site for the tourney, and for working with Jan and Carole to pull together donations, and players to make the event the success it was. Additional thanks go to Jan and Carole for putting together goody bags for the players and for artfully obtaining and and displaying the many raffle goodies that made the event more special.

Special thanks, too, go to the volunteers who got up at “0’-dark-hundred,” as Jane Maihos joked, to assist with all the behind the scenes activities: Jean Havens, Deb Lemieux, Jane Maihos, Margaret Sue O’Neill, and Fran Weil.

Photos from the event are posted here.
