THE CALVARY OUTREACH PROJECT

The Calvary congregation has continued its gracious support of others, both in and out of our congregation, through donations of both monetary and gently used clothing and household goods.

The Outreach Room is stocked with jackets, coats, slacks, dresses, hats, mittens and other garments earmarked for donation, and helps families in need serviced by our social worker, Maria
Silva Jimenez. 

We collect backpacks/school supplies for local school children serviced through the Danvers People to People Food Pantry. In November, we collect gently used, warm winter clothing. Additionally, The Calvary congregation continues to support the Danvers People to People Food Pantry through weekly food donations. Parishioner Larry Crowley graciously delivers these donations to the Food Pantry.

December’s Giving Tree is always a huge success, providing much-wanted presents to local children, which are distributed by the Food Pantry and our social worker.
 

Our members of the Lifebridge (formerly the Salem Mission) outreach team continue to serve a hot breakfast as part of the the Break Bread Together Community meals volunteer network, every three weeks, on Saturday morning from 7:30- 9:30 a.m..

Each team meets once every nine weeks to serve breakfast to approximately 50 homeless men, women and children. Team members take turns purchasing the groceries. Additionally, Calvary parishioners donate wrapped presents containing hats, gloves and socks that are distributed at Lifebridge on Christmas. We welcome new members Paul French & Dick & Shirley Cloutman. Team
