THE ALTAR GUILD

The Altar Guild is a ministry of lay people who care for the altar and the sanctuary of the church. Specific duties include:

• Preparing the sanctuary for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist
• Caring for vestments, vessels and linens
• Caring for and arranging flowers
• Changing the hangings, candles, etc. to make the church ready for all services
• Ordering the supplies.

Calvary’s Altar Guild is a very efficient, dedicated group that works well as a "behind the scenes" team that also arranges for the weekly altar flowers and vigil lights.

Designating Altar Flowers and Vigil Lights in Memory of Loved Ones-

If you would like to designate a date in memory of loved one(s) or wish to renew a standing memorial, please call the office to arrange for Altar Flowers or Vigil Lights in honor of a loved one.

NOTE: There are NO flowers on the Altar during Lent up to Easter.  Special Flower Fund offering envelopes are provided for Easter, All Saints and Christmas Eve.

The COST of Altar Flowers is $30 per week; Vigil Lights, $5 per light. (This is considered a "donation" and is recorded, upon receipt, under “Special Offering” on your pledge statement.)
